The UK operates an existing work permit scheme for highly skilled migrants known as Tier 1 (General), which enables highly skilled foreign nationals to come to the UK for the purposes of taking employment or self-employment. No prior job offer is required.

Graeme and his team have successfully filed many of the newly-termed 'Tier 1 (General) Permit applications' as well as the predecessor 'HSMP' applications since the scheme was introduced in January 2002.
